1) What is a press machine?

The press machine, also known as forming presses, are tools used in manufacturing to deform workpieces under high pressure. There are different types of machine presses, including bending machines, punch presses, shop presses, etc. However, the main characteristic of all machine presses is that they use high pressure to squeeze the workpiece in order to change its shape. 1. Dust

Keep the working area of the press machine clean and dust-free. Dust can be harmful, especially for electrical components. Clean the electrical components of the press machine regularly with a dust collector.

2. Lubrication

Lubricate all wear points of the press machine (piston and piston rod) with high temperature lithium grease. If too much grease is added, wipe off the excess. Failure to lubricate the machine regularly will cause the pivot joints to dry out and suffer from friction and wear. We recommend doing this more than once a year.

3. Keep the upper platen clean

A well-functioning press machine platen is a clean platen! Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the platen with iron cleaner, alcohol and petroleum solvent. Be sure to power off the computer before you begin cleaning. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use a rough object to scrub residue from the upper platen. This can damage the Teflon coating.

4. Cord

Use the press machine power cord that came with your heat press. Other power cords may be suitable, but will not hold the necessary voltage. To avoid fire and other safety problems, do not place the cord on or near a hot surface.

5. Protecting the lower platen

To protect the silicone pad on the lower press machine pressure plate, use PTFE. Teflon has sheets, covers or pillows. Teflon sheets can be placed on top of clothing to prevent them from sticking to the upper platen. Teflon covers act like a mattress cover and protects the rubber pad. Teflon pillows help evenly distribute pressure when items have irregular surfaces such as buttons, collars or zippers. Teflon should be replaced when it tears, breaks or rips.

6. Test the temperature

Press machine heat is critical to proper application. Occasionally use a machine test kit to check the heated platen. Set the temperature and check the results.
