How to match the electric power source of your press machines

Press machines normally adopts 3 phases electric power sources. This article is to introduce the power source details of press machines. We use world brand press machines as examples.

Example: World brand C frame single crank press, JH21-160

There are three pieces electric motors on the press. Main motor to drive transmission system, flat brake motor for adjust the slide, and the small motor for electric grease pump. Input electric power source connects the main motor and slide adjust motor directly. Input power connects the grease pump motor through a transformer. The transformer transfers the input power voltage to 220V.

Different countries have different industrial voltage standards. 220V, 380V, 400V, 415V, 440V and 600V. World brand press machines are made in China with standard voltage as 380V. Buyer shall confirm the local power voltage before place the order with world machinery for the press machines. World machinery can change the power press machines voltage standard accordingly. The main motor and slide adjust motor voltage should be changed. The frequency inverter voltage standard should be changed too if the buyer needs the optional inverter. The grease pump motor voltage does not need change, because the input is through the transformer.

Connect the 3 phases wires to L1, L2 and L3. PE is to ground for safety. Turn on the main motor, check the press flywheel rotating direction. The direction should be clockwise, as the arrow indicates on the flywheel safety guard. If the direction is wrong, just need to replace the two terminals of L1, L2 and L3.
