Installation of a power press is a professional work, which should be handled by experienced team.

This article is to introduce the steps of installation of a world brand power press.

It will be helpful if you own a new world brand power press.

Installation Instructions

This chapter records the preparations for installation, transportation, installation, and trial operation of the press.


1. Installation environment

1) Clean up necessary tools, clean machinery, molds, and bolster surfaces in time, and ensure smooth roads.

2) Temperature: 15~40 Celsius degrees; Humidity: 40%~70% without condensation at 20 degrees centigrade; Vibration: below 0.5G.

3) Do not install the equipment in radiation, such as: microwave, ultraviolet, laser or X-ray range; and direct sunlight, high humidity, large temperature difference, vibration, strong magnetic field, dusty and other environments.

4) danger, attention, prohibition, repair, etc. must be marked.


2. Installation and foundation (refer to attached drawings 20, 21, 22)

1) Handling, hoisting and installation should be carried out in accordance with the clause 1 in 1.3.2 Strict precautions during installation.

2) During foundation engineering construction, the bearing capacity of the foundation must be considered. Otherwise, partial subsidence of the press may occur.

3) If the foundation is sandy and soft, the concrete must be thickened accordingly, or even reinforced with steel bars. The minimum allowable bearing capacity of the foundation should not be less than 8000Kg/㎡, otherwise the foundation should be reinforced.


3. Installation

Unpack the package, clean, and check the accessories and spare parts, and wipe off the anti-rust oil with gasoline.


3.1 When installing with anchor bolts

1) Put the horizontal plate (prepared by the user) at the specified position, and then use the leveling bolts (prepared by the user) to adjust the levelness of each level to 0.5mm/m. The height difference of each board is ≤3mm. Next, pour non-shrinking mortar under the base plate, and the mortar needs to be evenly distributed under the plate. The levelness should be rechecked after pouring.

2) Before the machine is placed in the specified position, the leveling bolts on the horizontal plate should be cut off so that the horizontal plate is not exposed. Then place the machine in the specified position accurately.

3) Remove the nuts and washers on the anchor bolts, extend them to the pit, and then pass through the horizontal plate and the anchor holes of the machine, put on the washers, and screw on the nuts.

4) Place a precision level (≤0.03) on the bolster to measure and correct the levelness in the vertical and horizontal directions. According to actual needs, leveling pads can be inserted between the feet and the leveling plate to adjust the level of the machine. Its levelness is required to be within 0.2mm/m.

5) After the level of the machine is adjusted, the non-shrinkage mortar can be poured under the anchor bolt holes and the feet. CAUTION: Do not skew the anchor bolts.

6) When the non-shrinkage mortar is solidified, the nuts on the anchor bolts should be tightened. And check the levelness of the front, back, left, and right directions of the bolster again. Finally, Fill the press feet with mortar to prevent the gaskets from being exposed.



3.2 When installing with anti-vibration pads

1) Please pave the concrete where the anti-vibration pads or backing plates are installed. The misalignment difference of the 4 parts in the installation site shall be less than 4mm.

2) Place the pads on the paved concrete.

3) Install the anti-vibration pads in the specified place. Meanwhile, remove the bolts of the anti-vibration pads.

4) Place the press on the anti-vibration pads.

5) Insert the removed bolts into the foot holes of the press and screw them into the anti-vibration pads.

6) Tighten the bolts and adjust the installation accuracy of the press within 0.2mm/m. After the adjustment, it should be checked that the anti-vibration pads in the four parts are not floating.

7) Tighten the nuts.

8) Check the installation accuracy of the press again.



3.3. Air supply connection

The pipeline of the machine and the external air compression pipeline system are connected through a quick-plug joint. Before connecting, the foreign matter in the pipeline should be blown off, and then the air inlet should be connected to the pipeline system of the press. It is required that the pressure of the gas source is not less than 0.5MPa, and it must be water filtered.


3.4. Connection of power supply

Lead the three-phase AC 380V, 50HZ/60HZ (or customized voltage) power supply to the wiring terminals in the control box (L1, L2, L3, note: the ground wire must be installed).




3.5. Filling lubricant oils for the first time

Refer to the chapter type and quantity of oil injected into each part.

1) Top gearbox: Open the rubber plug on the top cover of the body and fill oil into it. Make the oil level reach the center of the oil level gauge on the right side.

2) Wet clutch and brake: Fill the oil through the hole at the back of the flywheel to the middle of the oil level gauge.

3) The ball head of the slider connecting rod: fill in oil from the upper part of the slider until the oil level rises to the middle of the oil level gauge installed on the front.

4) Hydraulic overload protection device: open the oil-filling mouth cap on the overload pump oil tank, inject oil into it, make the hydraulic oil reach the engraved line, and then screw on the cap.

5) Connecting rod: add lubricating oil to the oil hole on the front side or right side of the connecting rod.

6) Lubricating pump: the manual pump is directly refueled from the top of the pump, and the electric pump is refueled through the grease gun.



3.6. Operation check after installation

First check whether the gauge pressure of the clutch and the gauge pressure of the balance cylinder have reached the normal operating pressure (as described in the mechanism description), then press the motor start button. After the flywheel is running normally, carry out "inching" operation inspection, "single" operation inspection, and "continuous" operation inspection according to the operation essentials described later to check whether the various actions and electrical operations are normal, and pay attention to whether the "top dead center stop position" is correct. When the inspection result is normal, carry out the inspection before the operation of the press operation and the daily inspection operation.
